About This Microchallenge
MIT OpenCourseWare and MITx, part of MIT Open Learning, are marking two incredible milestones: 25 years of OpenCourseWare and 10 years of the MITx MicroMasters Program. These initiatives have empowered millions of learners worldwide with free and low-cost access to MIT’s educational resources.
To sustain this impact, we’re challenging 400 people to make a gift to MITx, OpenCourseWare, or MIT Open Learning during the MIT 24-Hour Challenge on March 12. When we reach this goal, $20,000 from a generous alumni donor will be unlocked—helping us continue to innovate to make education accessible for all. Every gift counts!
About OpenCourseWare
Join us in shaping the next 25 years of sharing MIT’s knowledge freely and openly with the world.
Twenty-five years ago, MIT launched OpenCourseWare, pioneering the practice of sharing curriculum freely with the world. Since then, more than 500 million learners have accessed MIT’s course materials at no cost, making OpenCourseWare a global leader in open education.
The impact has been transformational: High-school students close learning gaps, professionals advance careers, and lifelong learners explore new passions. OpenCourseWare has become a trusted companion for learners everywhere.
Now, we need your help to keep growing and extending our reach—updating resources, expanding access, and innovating for the next generation of learners. Join us during the MIT 24-Hour Challenge to champion free and open knowledge. Every gift makes a difference.
