About This Microchallenge
If 100 donors make a gift to MIT Libraries on March 13, $12,500 will be donated by Mary Lienhard, in honor of her late husband Robert Lienhard ’60, Course 15; Glenn Strehle SB ’58, SM ’60; and another generous donor.
Community Engagement at MIT Libraries
The libraries support the MIT community well beyond coursework and research. From author talks to hands-on creative workshops to concerts, our community engagement activities spark connections across campus. MIT Reads invites the entire campus community to read and discuss a book together every semester and has given away more than 1,500 free books to students. We offer our welcoming spaces for a wide array of student activities—from quiet prayer to an art installation to the MIT Mystery Hunt. When you support our Libraries’ Community Engagement, you help us extend our reach with more accessible and virtual programming that allows everyone to explore, engage, and connect, no matter where they may be.
*If you do not see a particular fund listed, you can donate on the MIT giving site and still be counted in the MIT 24-Hour Challenge.
