About IRDF
With approximately 1,700 members—about 36 percent of undergraduates—the Institute’s fraternities, sororities, and independent living groups (FSILGs) are a vital part of student life at MIT. FSILG facilities offer a diverse selection of residential housing options that are central to that experience, where students form lasting friendships and support networks that endure well beyond their time on campus.
To help maintain these important spaces, FSILG alumni have generously supported the Independent Residence Development Fund (IRDF) for over 60 years, and FSILGs have come to depend on its low-interest loans and grant programs to help fund repairs and improvements. If you share our belief that a flourishing FSILG community fosters community and innovation and is essential to the future of MIT, please help sustain the IRDF with your generous, fully tax-deductible financial contribution.
