Your group’s participation will engage donors and allow them to focus their efforts on the MIT programs and people that are most meaningful to them, like yours. Together, we can directly impact your specific, critical initiative while still being counted in support of the greater whole.
2025 MIT 24-Hour Challenge is on Thursday, March 13—aka Pi Day eve 🙂
The best way to ensure your group is successful during the Challenge is by doing outreach to spread the word about your fundraising. Receiving a direct ask for support from you is the most compelling way to turn your fans into your donors.
Visit the FAQ page for answers to questions about the platform, making a gift, current microchallenges, and more.

1. 👋 Post about the MIT 24-Hour Challenge and interact with 24-Hour Challenge social posts.
You can post, like, and share on any social media platform of your choice. The best way to get the word out is to post about it. You can use the suggested social media copy below or make it your own! The MIT Alumni Association social channels will keep an eye out for your posts and amplify your content as appropriate.
2. 📧 Send a solicitation email to your constituents on Thursday, March 13.
Be prepared to send a solicitation using your own mailing list―if you have one―on Thursday, March 13, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. ET. Please see sample solicitation text below and helpful hints on how to make your message most actionable!
3. 🎁 Make a gift!
Please make a gift to support your group’s microchallenge on March 13, 2025, between midnight and 11:59 p.m. ET. If you have already supported MIT this year, you can give again and be counted toward your microchallenge goal. Donors are more likely to support a cause if they see it already has donors and dollars behind it.

Because advances in semantic search capacity have reduced hashtags as a discovery tool, the AA will not be using them on social posts with as much frequency as before. Should you still want to use a hashtag with your posts, please use #MIT24. Make sure to also tag the MITAA’s social handles to have your post seen.
